NPCC concern over Sri Lankan Tamils issue

Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee has expressed concern over Tamil Nadu government's order of indefinite closure of educational institutions and hostels in the wake of students' unrest on Sri Lankan Tamils issue. Media Cell, NPCC Chairman R. Paphino stated Tamil Nadu was one state where large numbers of Naga students pursued technical and other general studies in colleges and universities, with the abrupt decision of the government on closure of educational institutions and hostels throughout the State, Naga students had been put to untold miseries and sufferings for want of not only academic pursuit but even security, accommodation, food and other basic needs. Stating that the issue required immediate attention and action, NPCC urged state government to take immediate measures to contact their counterpart Tamil Nadu government so that necessary adequate steps were taken to assuage serious problems faced by Nagas students in Tamil Nadu.
