4 held with arms, ammo in Dimapur

Acting on a tip-off about the movement of underground activists with arms around Khermahal area Dimapur, a joint Mobile Squad of Dimapur police and IRB intercepted one Maruti Alto and apprehended one NSCN (I-M) activist for possessing arms and ammunition at around 2.30 pm on Thursday. According to police, the activist identified as ‘Maj’ Khahoto Chishi, son of Ghunakha Chishi, of Chekiye village was carrying one 9mm pistol, one magazine, 37 live rounds of 9mm, one pistol holder and two cellular phones. In another incident, Dimapur police apprehended three persons for possessing arms and ammunition from a hotel at Hong Kong Market area at around 2 pm on Tuesday. One of the arrested has been identified as NSCN (K) ‘Corporal’ Atobo Sumi, son of Zhuhushe, of Ahoto village while the other two are Nagahoto, son of Khohuto, of Nekhuku village and Heroto Sema, son of Nekhezhe, of Agholoto village, residing at Purana Bazaar, police said. According to police, one country-made pistol of 7.65 calibre, one magazine and six live rounds were recovered from their possession. The three arrested have been remanded to police custody.
