NE business mission

In a bid to promote trade and investment, a delegation comprising businesses and government officials from the eight northeastern states of India will reach Vietnam next week, said a statement from the Indian consulate in Ho Chi Minh City. The group comprises officials from the Ministry of Development of North East Region (DoNER). Officials from the eight states of Nagaland, Sikkim, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram will also take part in the ASEAN North-East India Investment & Trade Opportunities Summit to be held in the city from February 12 to 14. The consulate statement stated that Indian and Vietnamese businesses would discuss trade and investment in the agriculture, infrastructure, tourism and IT sectors during the event which is being organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Vietnam Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Indian Business Chamber in Vietnam. The visit would also promote trade and investment in other countries in the ASEAN bloc.
