EYL, GACC enter semis

Etsutchukha Youth League (EYL) and GA Cricket Club Thursday secured semifinals berth in the ongoing XIII Winter Cricket Challenge played at local ground, Wokha. EYL defeated Lynx Youth Society, Kohima by 37 runs in the third quarterfinal match. Batting first EYL set up a victory target of 115 runs, with Mhonyamo making 30 runs. Both Rodouvotso and Akok shared 3 wickets each for Lynx Youth Society. In reply, Lynx Y S finished the inning 37 runs short of the victory target, losing 6 wickets, with a contribution from Akok 33 runs. Mhonyamo Yanthan was adjudged the man of the match In the last quarterfinal match, GACC opting to bat first set a target of 119 runs for the loss of five wickets. Lumbisang 28 was the highest scorer for GACC while Elithung also scored 21 runs. Chasing the target NST Youth CC were bowled out for 83 runs in the 18th over. Pidemo of GACC for his five wicket haul was adjudged the man of the match. It may be mentioned that three teams from Wokha and one from Dimapur have entered semi-finals. Meanwhile, Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) is going to organize the under-14 cricket match exhibition to celebrate the affiliation of NCA under Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) January 17, at local ground Wokha. The match would be played between Nagaland Cricket Association team (under-14) to be represented by Dimapur district under-14 and the Board President (under-14) team to be represented from Kohima, Mokokchung, Zunheboto and Wokha.
