ACYA convention begins

A three-day 28th general convention of Angami Catholic Youth Association is underway at Christ King Church, Kohima village, Kohima. The convention is held on the theme "I can do everything through him who gives me strength" hosted by ACYA Kohima Village. On day two the main attraction was the traditional folk song and dance competition, where the following Catholic Churches - Mima, SFS Kohima town, Jotsoma, Viswema , Chiephobozou, Khonoma, Rusoma, Mezoma and Phesama took part. The judges for the competition were Saku Francis, Kevilelhou John , Zasevizo Xavier, Dzüvichüno Josephine and Riiikhiesieü Ruth. The first prize was bagged by Viswema Catholic church, second went Rusoma Catholic Church and third place were jointly shared by Mima and Phesama Catholic churches. A new team of ACYA office bearers was also announced during the convention to be led by Keneisielie Clement -President, Keplhoubei Fedilis- Vice President, Vikuosienuo Ivy - General secretary, Vithazonuo Elizabeth - Joint Secretary, Rokokhonuo Catherine - Treasurer and Vilhoulie Vitus - Music secretary. On January 18 at 9.30 am the main celebrant for the Holy mass will be Rt. Rev. Dr. Jose Mukala, D.D, Bishop of Kohima. Around 1000 delegates from 35 villages under Angami region are taking part in the three-day convention.
