Reiterating to its earlier decision on issuing Non-Local Registration Card (NLRC), the Kyong Students' Union (KSU) has directed all non-locals, permanently or temporarily, residing under Wokha district, possessing ILP issued on or before December 31, 2004, to collect NLRC from its office from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. with effect from January 19 to February 19.
According union president, Yiben Humtsoe and vice president, Zubenthung Tsanglao the union, as per executive decision, had taken December 31, 2004 as the 'cut out' year for inclusion of ILP holders under the preview of NLRC, adding it would exclude ILP holders issued after the specified period.
Union has also informed that NLRC would be issued on submission of ILP, two copies of thumb-size photo and last year issue of NLRC.
"Non-locals under government service, teaching profession, children of five years and below, both ILP holders issued after the 'cut year' and without ILP would not be issued NLRC until further notice," the release stated.
KSU said issuing of NLRC was with an aim to regulate the non-locals, adding it aimed to create awareness on the influx of non-locals and also to throw light on the census of non-locals, and identify the area of working occupied by them.
Meanwhile, in a separate release, the Dimapur Kyong Students' Union (DKSU) has extended support to Kyong Students' Union (KSU) notice to illegal immigrants within Wokha district. Appealing all its sub-ordinate bodies and units to cooperate in implementing the notice, union has requested all Nagas to take initiative for bringing changes for future.
