Partial solar eclipse in India

The first solar eclipse of this year will be seen partially in south-eastern parts of India on January 26 while people in island groups Sumatra and Borneo of Indonesia will witness its full view. “A total of four solar and lunar eclipses will occur this year,’’ Varah Mihir Scientist Heritage and Research Centre’s Astronomist Sanjay Kethwas told UNI here today adding that a lunar eclipse would again occur on December 31 this year. The solar eclipse would start at 1510 hours IST and end at 1530 hours. It will be visible partially in eastern Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Kolkata, east Orissa, east Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, south Karnataka, east Orissa, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar islands.
