A four day, 13th inter bock tournament of Jalukie 'B' kick started, here, Wednesday with BDO of Tening Block, S. Chuba Longkumer gracing the inaugural function as chief guest. Speaking at the function, the chief guest said that organizing a tournament was not a new thing for the people in Peren district as many tournaments had been successfully organized with great achievement within the district including Jalukie valley. Pointing out that individual development was more important than being in the champion or winning team, the BDO urged the players to maintain the spirit of sportsmanship while aiming for glory. "A player should be bold enough but with patience, very tricky but with kind-heartedness, play to win without bad intention, play with full strength but without force, should compete strongly but with clear conscience, players should behave friendly with the opponent team so that the spirit of friendship through games and sports is exhibited in reality, etc," he pointed out. Underlining that the tournaments were not training grounds but a competition to showcase one's talent and winning a job to sustain life, he said players must earn good name through the tournament and wished all the players a grand success. Earlier, the programme started with invocation by Rev Pastor Ngimrai, welcome address by Teilubuing, VC Chairman, special number by Nangkamlak, presentation by IBTB, vote of thanks by Rampuibo, secretary for IBTB, ministering of oath taking by Ilungpet, referee board, and parade inspection and declaration of the tournament by the chief guest.
