: The state government has further relaxed conditions for recruitment of teachers under Department of School Education in respect of candidates belonging to six tribes — Konyak, Chang, Khiamnungan, Yimchunger, Santam and Phom — who do not possess the professional qualifications as prescribed earlier. An official release said selection of candidates for all posts in the districts inhabited by the six tribes would be filled up only by members of the tribes belonging to these districts. No post will be transferred out of the districts along with the incumbent. The short listed candidates belonging to the six tribes will be given five years to obtain the professional qualification instead of two years and the relaxation of the policy will be in forces for a period of ten years instead of three years. The release said the new relaxation policy will come into force with immediate effect and continue for a period of ten years, subject to review either for extension or discontinuance. All other conditions contained in the Relaxation Order dated 27th October 2008 will apply, the release added.
