Cong MLAs meet HM, party leaders

A 19-member team of Congress MLAs from Nagaland led by NPCC president KV Pusa and Congress Legislature Party leader Chingwang Konyak met Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, newly appointed Congress general secretary (in charge of Nagaland) V Narayanswamy and political advisor to Congress president Ahmed Patel and apprised them about the functioning and performance of what they called “inefficient, corrupt and malfunctioning” of the DAN Government, Parliamentary Secretary to CLP C Apok Jamir said in a release. They also highlighted and discussed the “misuse” and “abuse of power” as also various charges of “corruption” and “nepotism” on the part of the present chief minister and other ministers of the state. Apok said the Union Home Minister, Congress general secretary (in charge of Nagaland) and political advisor to the Congress president took serious note of the functioning of the DAN government and expressed grave concern over it. The state Congress MLAs also extended support to the newly appointed Congress general secretary who showed deep interest and genuine concern towards the state of affairs in Nagaland, the release said. Narayanswamy assured that the Congress high command would accord topmost priority towards addressing the issues raised by the MLAs and that the interest of the people of Nagaland will be protected at all cost, the release added.
