The real beauty of India lies in its cultural diversity. It is this diversity that makes our country ever interesting and an odyssey of knowledge with something new to learn everyday. And one of the most unique, original and untouched cultures the country boosts of is that of the Nagas. Now, you can have a taste of it in your city.
The Nagas, known for head-hunting by its forefathers, has rich culture, tradition and folklore that are hitherto remained unexposed. With an aim to share this rich culture with the fellow Indians, the Naga Students’ Union, Bangalore (NSUB), has taken up the initiative in organizing a gala cultural event called ‘Nagas’ Nite’ at Palace grounds on March 7.
The event sponsored by Music Task Force, government of Nagaland, would showcase cultural heritage of the Nagas varying from folk dance to folk sons to war dance to ethnic dress display and much more. Nagas being born singers, any event seems incomplete without music, and so, two nationally known musical bands from Nagaland and Manipur will be flown in to perform at the event. Special Naga dishes would also be available at the venue.
