CCFZ total sanitation campaign
DIMAPUR: A rally on total sanitation campaign would be conducted at Centre Point, Zunheboto on March 6 at 8 am. The campaign is being organized by Concerned Citizen’s Forum Zunheboto (CCFZ) and sponsored by PHED Zunheboto According to CCFZ chairman, Y. Kachari community new GB
DIMAPUR: Maintaining the custom and tradition of Kachari community, Dimapur Kachari community Saturday unanimously selected Divakar Kachari, son of late Babulal Kachari as its GB. The new GB was selected at a general meeting of all members of Dimasa GB Association, Dimasa Public Organisation, Mech Kachari Public organisation, Dimasa Women Society, Kachari Women Organisation, Kachari Rajbari Preservation Committee, Boro Kacahri representatives and general Kachari public of Dimapur held at Dimapur Namghar hall. The meeting was chaired by president Dimasa GB Association Brojen Langthasa.
Collection of free textbooks
DIMAPUR: All the head of institutions under the establishment of DIS Pfütsero, who have not yet collected free textbooks from class A to class eight have been informed to collect from the office of DIS Pfütsero immediately during office hour. Meanwhile, DIS Mokokchung Circle has also informed that free text book would be distributed to all Government Middle Schools and Government Primary Schools under DIS Mokokchung from February 26 onwards. All head teachers and teacher-in-charge have been requested to collect it from the office of the DIS Mokokchung.
Outreach programme in Kiphire
DIMAPUR: The ICTC staff and DAPCU staff of Kiphire district conducted a 5-day outreach programme from February 10-14 under Seyochung sub-division for anti-natal check up surveillance. The staff also gave counseling, draw blood symbol and distributed first aids.
CCFZ lauds ZTC
DIMAPUR: Concerned Citizens’ Forum Zunheboto (CCFZ) has lauded Zunheboto Town Council (ZTC) for demolishing illegal structures and erecting retaining walls at east project colony circular road which has been a long cherished dream of the Zunheboto denizens. CCFZ in a release has assured to contribute towards the erection of railing in front of DC’s office and appealed for construction of more circular road in the town.

House destroyed in fire
DIMAPUR: A thatched house at Half Nagarjan (Kuda village) junction, Dimapur was gutted in a fire that broke out around 10:40 p.m. Saturday. The house belonged to Y.P Lotha. Police sources said the fire erupted from a short circuit. Three fire tenders rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control, which lasted about half an hour, police said. Thought no injury was reported the loss of property was accounted to Rs.10, 000.
for merit students
DIMAPUR: Union Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) has introduced a merit scholarship known as ‘Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship’ for students from the non creamy layer who are studying in registered/recognized colleges or universities. A press release issued by chairman of Nagaland Board of School Education, Nini Meru said the scholarship would be awarded to students passing the higher secondary or equivalent examination securing 80% or above. The total number of merit scholarships for the state of Nagaland is 176 and it will be distributed in the ratio of 3: 2: 1 in science, commerce and humanities i.e. 88 merit scholarships for science, 58 merit scholarships for commerce and 30 merit scholarships for arts.
The value of the merit scholarship is Rs.1000 per month for a period of 10 months in an academic year for three years graduation course and Rs.2000 per month for two years post graduation course. To avail this scholarship, student has to secure 80% or above in higher secondary or equivalent examination (10+2) and the annual income of their parents must be less than Rs. 450000.
DIMAPUR: An emergency meeting of Dimapur district Sports Council (DDSC) has been convened on March 2 at 10 a.m at the DC conference hall, Dimapur. All members have been informed to attend the meeting. A press release issued by the DC Maongwati Aier said the meeting would deliberate on agendas pertaining to reshuffle of DDSC and other important matters.
