Chief ministers of the northeastern states have postponed their visit to Dhaka in view of the prevailing situation in Bangladesh. The group of chief ministers of Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura led by DONER minister Mani Shankar Aiyar were scheduled to visit Bangladesh on March 4 to discuss trade relations. Aiyar had said if Dhaka provides transit facilities to India and allows the use of Chittagong and other ports in Bangladesh, commodities and machinery can be transported to the northeast from various parts of India and abroad, saving huge time and money.
