Britain’s High Commissioner to India Sir Richard Stagg Tuesday said his country was in a position to help Assam develop the educational sector to harness its human resource. The British envoy was speaking at an interactive session hosted by the Indian Chamber of Commerce on UK and North-east India: Sustainable Development through Trade and Investment here. He also outlined other areas where the state could explore its growth potential.
The British envoy acknowledged that the security scenario in the state had improved considerably for investors and asked them to come to the state and explore the opportunities. He hoped that the hydro potential of the Brahmaputra could be utilized for economic gains.
