Six injured in road mishap in Dimapur

At least four persons were injured in a road mishap, involving a Maruti van (NL01T-5980) and auto rickshaw (NL01T-3809) near Padumpukhiri junction, Dimapur at around 4:5 p.m. Tuesday. According to police a Maruti van driven by one Imti Temjen Jamir (35) while trying to overtake another vehicle collided with an upcoming auto rickshaw, leaving all four occupants injured, including driver. The other injured stated to be minors, studying at MGM Higher Secondary School, Dimapur residents of 6th mile, Dimapur were taken to Dimapur Civil Hospital for treatment, police said. Police has arrested van driver under appropriate section. Meanwhile, two persons sustained serious head injuries when the scooter (NL04-8517) in which they were riding collided with a truck (NL06-A-2315) near Naharbari junction at around 7.10 pm Tuesday. Police said the injured identified as Robin Lotha (30), an IRB personnel and Khobenthung Lotha (28), a resident of Oriental colony, Dimapur were under the influence of alcohol when the mishap occurred. They have been admitted to Dimapur Civil Hospital for treatment. The injured were The truck as well as the scooter has been seized by the police.
