The Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers Union (NCSU) at an emergency meeting on Tuesday suspended its proposed indefinite agitation following written assurances from PWD (R&B) Minister that the pending bills of the NCSU amounting to more than Rs 12 crore would be cleared at the earliest as per the list verified by the District Verification Committee. The union however decided to approach the state government to give specific time frame for payment of the pending bills. This was informed by NCSU president Pele Khezhie. The NCSU had earlier threatened to resume its indefinite agitation from March 3 if the state government failed to meet its demand by the end of February.
