The district level awareness camp under Information Communication & Community Participation was held on March 3 at DVO office hall, Phek.
The inaugural programme was chaired by district veterinary and animal husbandry officer Phek, Dr. Mutozo. VAS Phek, Dr. Senowelo spoke on the diseases of cattle such as SMT, BOHS, milk fever and parasite infection etc. and control measure schedule of vaccination. The resource person, Manager PPC Phek, Dr. Chuba Paming delivered the topic ‘Swine Diseases and the Control Measures with Special Reference to Swine Fever’. Importance of timely vaccination was discussed in detail especially for rural areas. Interactive session amongst the trainees and farmers was held where farmers expressed that piglets should be produced from one own locality as bringing animals from outside bring more diseases.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Senowelo. Altogether 43 participants from Phek district attended the awareness camp.
