Dmu police on use of siren, beacon light etc.

Dimapur police in pursuance with the government notification has informed all responsible the use of siren, beacon light, flag post and designation plates on official vehicles carrying VVIPs, high dignitaries, officers and vehicles escorting them and other emergency service vehicles in the state as under: I. Use of sirens: State governor, state chief minister, VVIPs and union ministers during their visit to the State, governor and chief ministers of other states when they visit the state, Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) speaker. II. Use of beacon light with blinker, designation plates and flag posts: State governor, state chief minister, NLA speaker, state ministers, parliamentary secretaries, NLA deputy speaker, All MLAs of the state, judges of the High Court and members of Parliament. III. Use of beacon light without blinker, designation plates and flag posts: State chief secretary, state additional chief secretary, state commissioner, director general of police, information commissioners, principal secretaries/commissioners and secretaries/secretaries to state government and equivalent officials of other central services in state government, officers of central services in the status of principal secretaries/commissioners and secretaries of ministries of GoI/central government undertakings on posting in the state, chairman and members of NPSC/ vigilance commissioner/state advocate general/state accountant general/ NU vice-chancellor, army/ Para military and police officers who are entitled to use regimental flag/DC and SP of the district. IV. Use of organization/designation plates (white colour in blue background): Chairperson/deputy chairperson/members of municipals and town councils, central government departments and undertakings under GoI (example: BSNL, Census, DD, SBI etc.) in Nagaland, recongnised political parties. V. Use of multi-coloured red, blue and blue light combination: Police, pilot vehicle as per entitlement of all VVIPs, recovery/breakdown crane on road accident duty, police vehicle on road/traffic intersecption duty, ambulances on emergency duty and fire tenders. Dimapur deputy traffic police in a statement informed all responsible that unauthorized use of beacon lights, flag posts and name plates on their vehicle by any private individuals or organization was banned. It also stated that inscription or use of any words or letters other than the allotted sirens and number plates of private vehicles were banned. Traffic police also informed that in case the vehicles fitted with beacon lights on authorized vehicles was not carrying dignitaries, beacon lights should be covered with black hood. Meanwhile, it has informed that any vehicle violating the notification in and around Dimapur would be penalized and the unauthorized items would be removed on the spot.
