Wokha DPDB discuss rise of water level at DHEP

Monthly meeting of Wokha District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) February 9 deliberated on the rise of water level at DHEP dam. NLA deputy speaker and Wokha DPDB chairman, Ralangthung Yanthan addressing the meet enquired whether there was any hydrology to know the rise of the water level. In reply to the point raised, DHEP deputy manager, Gunwar highlighted the present working system and generation of electricity by the corporation. NLA deputy speaker also emphasized on the role of Naga identity, and asserted that every responsible citizen should preserve their identity. State minister for agriculture, Dr. Chumben Murry endorsed upon the villagers to construct morungs with a view to preserve the indigenous cultural environment thereby attracting the tourist. The house after a deliberation approved various agendas including construction of GHS, Aitepyong, chairman, Wokha Town Council and EE Power were inducted in the committee for the beautification of Tsumang Lake, Wokha town, approved to bring out a booklet highlighting the activities of DPDB Wokha quarterly. Also taking serious note of medical sub-centre buildings, the chairman directed CMO, Wokha, to take up necessary steps for proper infrastructure facilities and medical care in the district.
