In view of the proposed construction of new Railway Broad Gauge line from Dimapur to Kohima and for which preliminary survey has been started, deputy commissioner Dimapur, Maongwati Aier has requested all concerned whose village areas are being touched by the proposed railway line, to extend full co-operation in the new development initiative by the central/state government so as to achieve the goal. The DC in an official statement said the joint survey comprising of GBs/village council chairmen and land owners would begin from February 23 at around 8:30 a.m. with Nagarjan as the starting point and requested them to take note of the order. The DC said the pillars so erected by the survey team in the proposed line should be honoured and taken care of by the local residents saying that the shifting of the pillars would result in restarting the whole exercise from the beginning. He appealed the public not to disturb the survey team in any manner as it was only a preliminary one. SP Dimapur has also been requested to deploy NAP/IRB or police personnel for patrolling for the safety of the survey team and the proposed railway line as well.
