Timber contractors meet DIMAPUR: Kuilong Area Students’ Union (KASU), Manipur has convened a joint meeting with all timber contractor running business within the jurisdiction of Kuilong area on February 21, 11 a.m. at Hotel Saramati Dimapur to discuss some important matter. KASU president, Liangkebo and general secretary, Silubou has requested all the contractors to attend the meeting, and stated necessary action would be initiated against the absentees. The union has also informed to contact 9856943226, 9615100331 for queries. BDO Medziphema informs VDBs DIMAPUR: Block Development Officer (BDO), Medziphema, Taliyanger, through a press release has informed all VDBs under Medziphema RD Block, who has not submitted audit report for the year 2006-07 and photographs of Grand-in-Aid (GIA) works for the year 2006-07 and 2007-08 have been requested to submit the same latest by February 20. DMC notifies on renewal of trade license DIMAPUR: Dimapur Municpal Council (DMC) has notified all traders/shop keepers and business establishments to renew their respective trade license for the year 2009 latest by March 31. According to a press release issued by DMC deputy chairperson, DP Angami, failure to comply with the notification, late fine would be imposed as per the council’s norms on expiry of the stipulated period. Seminar held at prisons department KOHIMA: State department of prisons on February 12 conducted one day seminar for officers of the department at the conference hall of PHQ, Kohima. The seminar was conducted to sensitize the working system of command and control to improve jail administration. DG prisons and HG, O. Alem speaking at the seminar highlighted on duties and responsibilities of officers and command and control; deputy IG prisons, R. Haralu stressed on prison administration, correction and reformation; while project director, NSACS, Dr. Neiphi Kire emphasized on orientation and awareness on HIV and AIDS. SLOAD condemns killing DIMAPUR: Sound and Lights Association and Dimapur (SLOAD) have condemned the killing of late. Atovi H.Yepthomi on January 25 at new market Dimapur. The association in a release has expressed anger over the killing and appealed to all right thinking citizens to condemn such acts. SSUYC new team DIMAPUR: Surumi Students’ Union (SSU) has elected a new team of its youth club under the chairmanship of Surumi Village Council (SVC) for the tenure 2009-10. According to a press release issued by the union president, Hotoi Awomi, new team of the youth club would be led by Inavi H. Awomi (president), Mughavi Z. Awomi (vice-president), Hokheiyi I. Change of nomenclature DIMAPUR: All the beauty parlours and saloons under Dimapur district have been informed that DDBPOA has been change to Dimapur District Beauty Parlour and Saloon Owner’s Association (DDBPSOA). Association president, Khetoli Imsong in a release has also informed that its office has been shifted to Milenium Building, TF5, . Further, it has informed all unregistered beauty parlour and saloon to get registered from the office during working hours from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. HTR Cineplex clarifies news item DIMAPUR: HTR Cineplex, Dimapur, has clarified the news item under the caption “HTR Cineplex all for movie buffs” that appeared in a local daily on February 15. Clarifying the news item, the management of HTR Cineplex through a press release has added few more details which were earlier missed due to communication lapses including the number of entrepreneurs which should be read as four and not three, fourth partners being Inato Chopy and also the name of the parent organization is I-FIN Services and not as i-finance service. NPF central office tour schedule DIMAPUR: A team from NPF central office is conducting tour to some of its division in the state since February 16 for which all divisional executives, constituency office bearers, youth and women wings office bearers have been requested to attend the meeting that has been scheduled accordingly in their respective divisions. According to a press release issued by NPF central office working president, Apong Pongener, the team has convened a meeting on February 17 at Wokha and Zunheboto at 10 am and 3 pm respectively, at Longleng, the meeting would be held at 11 am while the final meeting of the tour has been convened at Mokokchung on February 19 at 12 noon. KWST felicitates Kohima: Kohima Waromung Shisashir Telongjem has felicitated Nungshisenla Aier, daughter of Imsayuba Naga, on being conferred a Gold Medal for her work in the field of Communication Engineering at the 8th Annual Convention of Visvesvaraya Technological University. Viyito vill to host WSBAK revival hour DIMAPUR: Public of Viyito village has expressed gratitude to power minister, CE (power), EE (power) for installing transformer 63 KV at the village for the forthcoming WSBAK revival from February 20 to 22. The villagers have also thanked first class contractor Pükhato Shohe for taking the initiative. Meanwhile, Viyito Baptist Church (VBC) has invited all believers under WSBAK to attend the revival. JNV Mkg principal notifies applicants DIMAPUR: Principal of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Roy P. NNC/FGN (NA) expel cadres DIMAPUR: The NNC/FGN (non-accord), Sumi region, has expelled seven of its cadres including Vizheto Chishi (leacy) of Ghoshito village, Kiqheto Awomi (leacy) and Enohs (khapur), both resident of Burma Camp, Dimapur, Atoyi Shohe (khapur), Howoto Shohe (khapur) and Herato Achumi (khapur) also of Ghoshito village and Mughato (khapur) from its fold on charges of alcoholism, drug abuse, unauthorized collection tax and misappropriation of government fund. According to a press release issued by supervisor, Sumi region, FGN (non accord), Brig. Tokugha Zhimo, the step taken by the government comes in the backdrop of their refusal to comply with its government’s directives, moreover devoid of ‘national spirit’ they lack character other than their interest in monitory and other material possession and further warned that any individual or group cooperating with them would be doing at their own cast.
