2 PULF activists held in Dimapur

Acting on a tip off, the Special Branch Team, Dimapur police and IRB personnel arrested two PULF activists Tuesday afternoon from Notun Bosti area. Police identified the two as “Major” Abdul Latif (30) son of Md. Iboya of Mauyang village, Thoubal, and a resident of Lhomithi colony, and James Alias Thoungbe. According to information given by the arrested, a search was conducted at the residence of Latif from where two cell phones, 32 live rounds of ammunitions (M20), one AK 47 Sling, a memory card and a Soft Top Gypsy (NL03-1417) were seized, police said. Meanwhile, in separate raids, four China-made hand grenades were recovered from the residence of Rosemary Diswang (29), daughter of Doubi Diswang of Katang village, Peren, and a resident of Power House, Haralu Colony, Dimapur. She was to dispose the grenades for Rs.40,000 to Latif. Police also recovered a bundle of entry pass form of GPRN Kilo Affairs, one camouflage pant, one note book containing taxation list and incriminating documents from the residence of Santi Chetri (55), wife of Ramnath Sharma, and a resident of Lhomithi colony.
