Big fight for DAN, Cong

With the DAN announcing NPF candidates to fight the four byelections held by the contestants who resigned from the Congress to join the NPF, April 16 would turn out as the ‘big fight’ between the ruling and opposition Congress in for the Lok Sabha as well. The DAN coordination committee which met today unanimous decided to field the four former Congress MLAs – Kejong Chang from 54 Tuengsang Sadar –II AC, Aloh Wangham from 41-Tizit A/C, Azheto from 3-Dimapur III A/C and Deo Nokhu from 17-Chizami A/C as DAN consensus candidate on NPF party ticket. NPF party Assistant Press Secretary, Mr. Shilumar disclosed that the DAN coalition partners - NPF, BJP, NCP and JDU- who attended today’s meeting assured their fullest cooperation and support to make sure that their candidates win the election. Earlier, the DAN coordination committee had unanimously decided to field C M Chang of the NPF as the DAN consensus candidate for the lone Lok Sabha seat. The DAN coordination meeting chaired by NPF Working President, Apong Pongener also decided to hold the party ticket distribution-cum-kicking off election campaign ceremony for both the Parliamentary and Legislative Assembly by-elections on March 19 at 10 am at the NPF Party Head quarter office. It may be recalled that the Congress has decided to field former MP Mr. K Asungba Sangtam for Lok Sabha seat and also declare its four candidates by Monday at the Party Parliamentary Affairs Committee (PAC) meet where AICC General Secretary incharge of Northeast Mr. Narayanasamy is also scheduled to attend.
