Meeting of District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), Zunheboto, was held on March 11 coinciding with its picnic at Bailley point, Doyang river, where its members and officials, ZTC chairperson and councilors, public leaders and villagers from surrounding villages attended.
C.M Tsanglao, deputy commissioner, while presiding over the meeting expressed happiness on seeing the impressive gathering but lamented that the district has no good reputation in the past.
He hoped that the district would start a new beginning in regard to DPDB matters at the same time sought cooperation of the officers and requested them to inculcate team work during the ensuing parliamentary election.
In the course of deliberations, the board agreed to recommend for construction of District Education Office, Zunheboto, and two staff quarters for the staff of DEO (Edu) and DIS, Zunheboto, while matters relating to resting shed at the junction of Old and New Shena and Asukika would be look into.
It also resolved to request elected representatives from the district to provide Rs.3 lakh for the construction of a rest house at Ikhaluqa near Doyang bridge from LADP fund during 2009-10 while for other proposals including up-gradation of GMS, creation of EAC post, Asukika, agri link road from Old and New Shena junction to Sukotulo, medical sub-health centre at Ustomi and protection of rest house at Ikhaluqa, the board agreed to request the respective department to take necessary initiative.
The meeting also decided to request the DFO to take up tree plantation programme in order to beautify the Ikhaluqa Doyang river area.
