New team for organizations and unions

Various organizations and unions have elected its new team of office bearers WSSU: New team of office bearers of Western Sumi Students’ Union (WSSU) for the tenure 2009-11 has been elected with Daniel H. Sumi (president), Piketo Zhimo (vice-president), Aloto Shikhu (general secretary), Hetovi Anche (assistant general secretary), Mughato N. Awomi (finance secretary), Lovito Tuccu (cultural secretary), Aghato Zhimo (publicity and information secretary), Akato Kiba (organizing secretary), Khekali awomi (women coordinator), Abeto Swu (speaker U/A) and Inaholi Yepthomi (deputy speaker). The union in a press release has also extended gratitude Inaka Assumi, vice-president, Naga Hoho, convener, organizing committee, Khekaho assume, chairman, DMC, convener, finance committee, Hukavi Yepthomi, former president, SKK, convener, programme committee, and all the committee members for their initiation and contribution towards the success of the conference and also to Khekaho Assumi, DMC, chairperson for donating Rs.1 lakh towards the conference. KDFA: In the larger interest of farmers, the Kiphire District Farmer’s Association (KDFA) was formed and later registered with the department of home on December 17, 2008. The association has also elected a new team of office bearers with Lisuchu Sangtam of Tsongphong village (president), Kirijong of Seothsing village (vice-president), Liripi S. Thonger of Yangzitong village (general secretary), Hopise Sangtam of Amahator village (joint secretary), K. Boto Yeptho of Honito village (finance secretary) while T.J Selo of Singrep village, L. Thsipongse of Kiphire village, M. Ajuba of Tuthezu village and Kurekyu of Old Monger village were elected as executive members and Along Sangtam as treasurer. It may also be mentioned that the association came into being with an objective to encourage and improve the economic conditions and also to provide facilities for better farming in the district. The association has also called upon the farmers under agri and its allied sectors to cooperate with the association and to share their views and grievances to the association and also informed that the association would verify the existing project of the farmers sponsored by departmental agencies.
