Factions clash in W’ka

Rival factions of the NSCN were engaged in a clash on Sunday from 5:30 am till 10 a.m at Sungha village, about 22 kms from Bhandari under Wokha district. However, no casualty was reported. According to sources, the clash occurred when NSCN (I-M) activists numbering around 35 arrived at the village where around 40 activists of GPRN/NSCN were camped. Quoting the villagers, police said the GPRN/NSCN activists came from Liphayan village side and had camped at Sungha village on Saturday night. Police however said the GPRN/NSCN had already vacated the place when they reached the spot. Meanwhile, according to a statement issued by chairman Yanmhon Area Public Organisation, Khonbemo Jami the situation was normalized with the immediate intervention of the district administration, police, Lotha Hoho, public and NGOs.
