The central authority of NNC taking serious note of imposters from a section of NNC and non-NNC members collecting money at random in the name of NNC (Non-Accord) especially in Dimapur area and Kohima without the proper official authorization from the central office, have termed it nefarious collecting money in the name of the parent body to tarnish the good image of the political body.
In a press note issued by information & publicity wing, Naga National Council, the NNC central authority has taken this seriously, informing all business establishments, offices and general public to immediately inform the central office for confirmation and action or otherwise asked the public to take action immediately on their own with the help state police and others.
“This nefarious activity of collection in the name of the NNC is going on at this crucial stage of Naga Reconciliation and also taking the best advantage of Non-Violence stand of the Parent Body of the Nagas”, it stated and went on to add that “the NNC have been taking the best policy of non-violence for the best interest of the Naga people in particular in the homeland till date to avoid and done away killing and bloodshed amongst the Naga National workers to bring healing, peace and unity in the Naga homeland for freedom of all the Naga people”.
However it said some imposters, renegades and even members have been committing this crime against innocent general public “knowing fully well” about their stand on this issue.
The NNC further warned all concerned to be aware of this nefarious activity in the homeland, adding till date it has not demanded or collected tax from public for the best interest of the innocent people.
In an appeal, the central authority informed the public that “only if and when necessity arises” collection of money is carried for the interest of freedom and nation building, and that the central authority would not be held responsible for such crime against the people or for any action against such people as stated clearly for the information of the people.
