SCERT invites applications for teachers training courses

State Council of Educational Research and Training has invited applications from educated unemployed graduates (indigenous Nagas) for undergoing Teachers Training Courses under SCERT, Nagaland for the session April-September 2009. According to an official bulletin, the training courses include 6 months certificate course in teaching of English under English Language Teaching Institute (ELTI) support scheme (GoI) and 6 months certificate course in Early Childhood and Care Education (ECCE) for pre-primary school teachers. These courses have been introduced for the in-service teachers of government schools. However, as an equal important stakeholder in the field of education 10 seats quota has been provided for the private schools teachers and the general candidates for this session. The SCERT director has further informed that with limited seats, selection of applications would be on the basis first come first. The training would be free of cost except for a nominal admission fee. 1. Required qualification - Graduate (Arts/Science) 2. Age limit - 26 years (maximum) 3. Availability of seats (a) 6 months Certificate Course in Teaching of English. (b) 6 months Certificate Course in ECCE Private Schools General Candidates 1) 5 seats 5 seats 2) 5 seats 5 seats The session is from April to September 2009. Application forms can be obtained from the office of the SCERT, Nagaland, Kohima and the last date for submission of forms is 27th March 2009.
