Former MLA joins NPF

Continuing the resignation saga, former MLA and former Vice president of NPCC Nuzota Swüro on Tuesday tendered resignation from both the active and primary member of Indian National Congress and have joined the Nagaland People’s Front (NPF) party. Releasing a press statement to the media here Tuesday morning at the residence of NPF President Dr. Shurhozelie, Nuzota Swüro said “As I have totally lost confidence in the integrity and capability of the Congress part leadership, I resign from both the active and primary member of Indian National Congress”. He also said the reason for his resignation was to work for the policy and programs of DAN government to strengthen the hands of Neiphiu Rio, state chief minister and Dr. Shurhozelie, President NPF. Prior to joining NPF on March 17, Nuzota served the Congress party that he joined on December 13, 1984 and served the party in various capacities. He was also an MLA from 16th Chazouba A/C from 1998 to 2003 as Congress MLA. Welcoming him to the NPF party, Dr. Shurhozelie, President NPF expressed happiness that many stalwarts from other parties including Nuzota had taken right step to join NPF, in order to bring unity amongst the Naga society and also further strengthening of the NPF party. Minister for health and family welfare, Kuzholuzo Nienu, on behalf of the DAN legislators from Phek district also welcomed Nuzota to NPF, adding “a leader of his caliber would further boost to strengthen part in all spheres”. Parliamentary secretary Social welfare, child and women development C. Sazo, secretary general NPF KG Kenye and senior party leaders Pusazo Luruo, Timikha Koza and Besupre Swruo were also present during the news briefing.
