The 32 year old water pipeline that served as main source of water supply to Tuensang town has been damaged since past last month and left unattended. Local residents have alleged that the pipe line which is called ‘TUU nallah’ was left ignored by PHED department for more than a month causing lot of hardships to the public. Citizens of Tuensang have therefore urged the PHED department to repair the damaged pipeline for the welfare of the public at the earliest. Taking strong exception to PHED attitude, earlier, the public have purportedly lodged a complaint against the poor workmanship of the pipelines and warned that, they would not longer tolerate such step motherly treatment meted out to rural people. Talking to this reporter, Tuensang Town Council (TTC) member Y.K. Yimchunger said people of Tuensang were facing a lot of problem owing to leakage of main pipe for Tuensang thus causing landslide in the areas. He also appealed the department to take the matter as top most priority. However, PHED department labourers on March 16 upon the request by the public made some minor repairing.
