Dimapur District Auto Driver’s Union (DDADU) has called for an indefinite strike starting Friday following the failure of the district administration to revoke its earlier order of revising auto fares issued on February 13. DDADU said the strike was also called in protest against the physical assault meted out to one of its fellow driver on March 18 night. “Our repeated request to DC to revoke the order is yet to materialize till date and the situation is going out of control, so we have we have decided to call the indefinite strike until the matter is resolved,” said president DDADU, Akaho Kiba.
