As part of its ongoing development efforts, Development Association of Nagaland (DAN) in collaboration with NABARD, Dimapur conducted a Detergent Surf Making Training cum Promotional programme” on March 19 at Nchangram village, Tening.
With an objectives to encourage the Self Help Group (SHG) members to take up new and feasible income generating ventures, leading to socio-economic upliftment of the rural people in rural villages, the ongoing activities of the programme included supply of detergent powder making kits and detergent powder production at the selected village as a pilot demonstration cum production unit.
Altogether 30 participants from three different selected SGH groups participated.
Coordinator of SHG, DAN, P. David, has also extended gratitude to KC Pant, General Manager, NABARD for his encouragement and support to the organization in its socio-economic empowerment efforts.
It may be mentioned that Development Association of Nagaland (DAN), as a development organization of the Catholic Church has been working for the development of the people in rural villages through a series of animation programmes, formation of Self Help Groups (SHGs) and promotion of income generating activities among them in different villages in Nagaland particularly within Dimapur, Peren and Phek districts.
