RSBY enrolment for Tseminyu DIMAPUR: Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) a smart card based health insurance scheme for BPL families would be issued for Tseminyu block. According to Rokoketou Sechü, Operational Manager RSBYP enrolment and issue of the cards for Tseminyu bloc would be done from March 21 to 31 and that necessary datas of every village would be provided to village councilors by the operational manager. Forest fire at Chiechama KOHIMA: Forest fire broke out at the proposed Ciethu Air Field area in Chiechama village on March 12. Informing this in a press release, Chiechama village Council said the forest fire had destroyed more than 2500 ‘thac’ of firewood. The fire which broke out from Garü River under Nerhema jurisdiction was yet to be extinguished, the council said in a press statement. Training for VDBs at Tsg DIMAPUR: A three-day basic foundation course for VDBs of Tuensang district concluded on March 19. According to an official bulletin, the resource persons spoke on ‘Participatory decentralize planning for BRGS; Nagaland Village and Area Council Act 1978; VDBs Model Rule 1980; Concept and salient features of RTI Act; Women empowerment; Financial management, Accountancy and Auditing’. 448 participants from four Block of Tuensang district attended the training under the chairmanship of Deputy project officer, DRDA Tuensang. Standing comm at Changtongya DIMAPUR: Changtongya administrative sub-division standing committee was constituted under the directive of deputy commissioner (ARO) Mokokchung. Medical camp held at Monyakshu DIMAPUR: As reported by the village council and village health committee of Monyakshu village on outbreak of diarrhoea which left 12 people dead within a span of two weeks, a mobile medical team led by Dr. Yingnei rushed to Monyakshu village and conducted a free medical camp on March 18. According to an official bulletin, altogether 398 patients, mostly children below 8 years were treated and given free medicine. K(P)YO condemns Dimapur; Kacharigaon (Phevima) Youth Organisation (K(P)YO) has vehemently condemned the inhuman and cruel murder meted out to late Sorhon Kikhi by Dhon, Jettumani and Pappu on march 18 at 9 mile Lungtibou village in Karbianglong district. VKAYOD meet Dimapur: V.K Area Youth Organisation Dimapur (VKAYOD) has convened annual general meeting on March 21 at 2 pm at Union Banker’s Hokishe Assumi residence. All elders and youth of Dimapur have been informed to attend the meeting. BSNL replies to STSU DIMAPUR: BSNL has replied to Shamator Town Students’ Union (STSU) in regard to the latter’s news item that was published in a local daily on March 15 under the heading ‘STSU apprises CGM BSNL.’ In reply to the statement, the PRO, BSNL, Dimapur, in a press release said that sincere efforts have been made to activate the GSM BTS tower by April as the official fibre cable jointing works were in progress. BSNL also thanked the students’ union for giving valuable suggestions and extending cooperation to the department. State level PMEGP, REGP exhibit DIMAPUR: State level PMEGP, REGP exhibition would be held from March 30 to April 5 at Naga Shopping Arcade, Dimapur. According to a press release issued by Assistant Director, in-charge, KVIC, Dimapur, interested beneficiaries financed under PMEGP/REGP scheme of Khadi and V.I Commission (KVIC), and other prospective entrepreneurs to apply in prescribed format for participation to the said exhibition. The release also stated that preference would be given to financial units on priority. NPF youth wing meet DIMAPUR: Nagaland People’s Front (NPF) youth wing Wokha division has convened a meeting on March 24, 10:30 a.m. at conference hall of NPF Wokha division office. L. M. Kikon, vice president NPF youth wing Wokha division has requested all the office bearers, president and general secretaries youth wing of all assembly constituency, central youth wing leaders from Wokha division to attend the meeting.
