State Bank of India, has added another feather to its cap after inaugurating its 48th branch at Sukhovi, ARTC and School Thursday here with DGAR, Lt. Gen Karan S. Yadava, AVSM, SM, VSM as chief guest.
The DGAR, speaking on the occasion stated that it was an essential effort of the AR to provide banking facilities to all its jawans spread across the length and breadth of the country for which SBI has been fulfilling the dream through its ‘CORE’ banking system.
Lauding the ‘CORE’ banking system of the SBI which provides access to banking facilities and cash transfer from anywhere in the country, DGAR Yadava said that the facility itself was a boon.
He also said that it was the duty of every bank to provide facilities everywhere, even in the remotest locations and further expressed hope that SBI would continue to provide facilities which can benefit the general public and the jawans.
DGM and CDO, State Bank of India, local head office NE circle Guwahati, H.K Dhar, who also spoke at the function stated that the opening of SBI at Sukhovi was beneficial for the AR jawans and also for the people of Sukhovi area.
He also anticipates the launching of various facilities in the branch like internet kiosk in the future.
SBI, on the occasion also adopted three girls from the area under its social scheme which interestingly has adopted more than 2 lakh girl children from across the country till date.
The programme was attended by officials of SBI, all ranks of AR and citizens of Sukhovi area.
