DDADU calls off stir

Dimapur District Autorickshaw Drivers’ Union (DDADU) called off strike on Friday after a lengthy deliberation with district administration and subsequent settlement of auto fare revision. DDADU president, Akaho Kiba in a press statement said that deputy commissioner had issued an order, which stated that revised rate of auto fare would come into effect from March 23. The revised rate, DDADU president said would be published in local dailies and also be produced in the form of booklet for drivers and commuters at the cost of Rs.15, which would be available at its office. Hence, with the suspension of strike DDADU has appealed drivers to resume their normal course of business. Meanwhile, DDADU has convened general body meet March 22, 1 p.m. at head office.
