Drawing attention to the plight of students of Nagaland University (NU) for the delay in declaring results, the Naga Students’ Union Dehradun (NSUD) has appealed the NU vice chancellor Prof. K. Kanan for necessary action in the interest of the students’ community. In a letter addressed to NU vice chancellor, NSUD President Chipakhuyi Rhakho stated that delayed declaration of N.U exam result ‘had already become the undue adopted practice’ which had severely hampered the mobility of the student’s fraternity in the past. In spite of the UGC regulation Act 2003 which deals with the academic calendar to give effect and facilitate smooth career mobility and academic progression for students in higher education and also introducing new pattern of uniform academic calendar in universities across the country from the coming academic year, NU had failed to materialise on many counts, the letter stated. NSUD has appealed VC to implement it in letter and spirit so that Naga Students would no longer suffer in pursuit of their higher studies because of the delayed declaration of result.
