Choral music conveys message of love

Conveying the message of love and harmony beautifully interwoven with unique tradition, culture and beliefs of north east region, Mizo Minstrel Choir and Chancel Choir two of the best choir groups of the region enthralled the gathering by choral music. The Mizo Minstrel Choir was established in 2007 to promote the Choral Music comprising members of popular singers from Aizawl. The Chancel Choir was formed in the year 2005 under the leadership of Lipokmar Tzudir, who completed his graduation in Bachelor of Music from the prestigious Asian Institute of Liturgy and Music, Philippines. The Choir’s rich repertoire ranges from Western, Classical, Broadway and traditional compositions. For the people of North Eastern States Choral Music is an indispensable piece of art form for all the major shows and events. The NEZCC underlying the popularity of the art form among the people particularly the youth allotted the third evening of the Spring Festival to choral music. As expected, festival is attracting a large number of audience irrespective of age. The North East Spring Festival will continue at the NEZCC Complex till March 24. The Shillong Chamber Choir will perform on March 23, Fusion from Assam will present the English Musical Comedy “I am only Human!” The Festival will end with Naga Folk and Fusion Music from Rewben Mashangva and the Ballad Fusion on March 24.
