Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC) has condemned the ‘irrelevant and unapologetic’ press statement made by Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio through local dailies on March 20. According to a press release issued by NPYC general secretary, Kiyexu Chishi, in the continuing process of playing effective role in the service of the people, the NPCC had found anomalies and misrule of DAN government in the last six years for which for constructive purposes, the congress party has been consistently raising the issues of deteriorating law and order situations, misuse of public funds, infectiveness and failures of DAN government and rampant corruption that are taking place in the state. The NPYC said that instead of taking corrective measures and delivering goods to the people, the NPF party was ‘unapologetic’ and trying to send wrong message to the people by terming the Congress party a ‘liar.’ The release also stated that in their recent visit to Nagaland, the union minister for DoNER and Panchayat Raj, and minister of state for planning, had categorically said that the UPA government has allotted huge amount of money to the DAN government by enhancing the ‘State Annual Budget’ and also in the form of special packages, but they had expressed regret on the misutilization of various centrally sponsored scheme funds by the NPF led DAN government. Meanwhile, the NPYC felt that reacting to the Congress party for highlighting the wrong doing of DAN government might not serve ‘public interest’ and added that that NPF might not accept the truth but recent disclosure of CAG reports for various departments has substantiated that there are anomalies and rampant mismanagement of public funds in the state.
