DC Mon urges govt to deliver better health care service

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mon, Dinesh Kumar IAS called upon the doctors, nurses and staff of civil hospital, Mon to discharge their duties with sincerity and dedication with the available resource and infrastructure for proper health care. He was speaking during interaction meeting at Civil Hospital, Mon on March 20. He maintained that absence of medical profession would affect people directly and asked the staff to obtain prior permission from the authority while leaving the station on official duties. Stressing the primary responsibilities of DCs as the chairman of medical committee he also urged government to deliver better health care service to public. DC also emphasized on cleanliness of hospital and maintenance of directory of medical staff for timely intervention and smooth functioning of the department. According to official bulletin, DC Mon has assured to construct both kitchen and toilet for the hospital and would also finalize the matter for separate water supply and transformer connection after discussion with the concerned EEs. Lamenting the grievances of Mon civil hospital, Dr. Lemnyei said, Mon was the only hospital in district with no alternative clinic or nursing home to provide health care service to poor people and the lone 50 bed hospital was run by eight doctors including two specialists. He also suggested for up gradation of 100 beds with staff pattern, separate transformer and water supply connection, construction of nurse and doctors quarter and kitchen for the patients. The other staff who shared various problems of the hospital included nurse Hongkoi and Vilosieno, Manpong, district programme manager and Dr. Wati, Ms Mon. Earlier, on March 19, DC Mon also visited the fire incident site and donated Rs. 5000 as immediate relief.
