USLB appeal to engineer in chief

United Sangtam Likhüm Bhümji (USLB) has sought clarification on the ongoing work in NH-155 stretching from Mokokchung to Meluri via Tuensang, Kiphire. In a letter to the engineer in chief (PWD) N. Chielie, United Sangtam likhüm bhümji, general secretary C. Sashi Naga stated that it was a relief to see pot holes on the road filled up between Mokokchung and Kiphire, but speculated “whether this work is executed by real professional contractors who all well versed of the norms and modalities of national highway laid down”. The general secretary also stated that the fund meant for this particular stretch was not properly utilized, for which the people of the area were compelled to seek clarification from higher up if the department continue to neglect any form of improvement on the substandard workmanship. USLB has appealed the department to immediately swing into action to improve the quality of roads as given in the norms of national highway construction.
