Frolic cup 2009 from April 21 Dimapur, Mar 23 (NPN): Frolic Club Medziphema would organize the first “Forlic Cup 2009” on the theme “goal for change” starting from April 21 at local ground, Medziphema. According to club president, the tournament would played on knock-out basis while the winners and runners-up will received Rs. 20,000 along with running trophy and Rs. 15,000 respectively. Individual prizes including highest scorer, best player and best goal keeper will be awarded, the release said. The entry fee is fixed at Rs.15,000 and forms will be available at Bobs bakery, Medziphema and Wonderland Pool House Medziphema. GHS Chukitong sports meet Dimapur, Mar 23 (NPN): Annual sports week of GHS Chukitong was conducted from March 16 to 20. According to P.E.T teacher, Nchumo the annual sports meet was declared opened by assistant headmaster of the school. The main events during the sports meet included sepaktakraw, football, volleyball for both boys and girls. HASSU football trophy Dimapur, Mar 23 (NPN): Highway Area Sumi Student’s Union (HASSU) has informed that the forms for the forthcoming 4th football running trophy HASSU will be issued on March 25 between 9 am to 11 am at HASSU office, WSH office building. In this regard the union has informed the unit representatives to collect the form during the said mentioned date. Darogajan, Bokajan win Dimapur, Mar 23 (NPN): Darogajan and Bokajan won their respective matches in the ongoing All Kachari Inter Village Cricket Tournament 2009 (T-20) played at Kachari community play ground, Darogajan Kushiabill village, here Monday. The tournament is being organized by Kachari Sports Association, Nagaland. In the first match of the day Darogajan defeated Padompukhuri by 46 runs. Opting to bat first after winning the toss Darogajan scored a competitive total of 131 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted over with the help of Ebol making 37 runs. In reply Padompukhuri were bowled out for 85 runs losing nine wickets. In the second match, Joyter five wickets hauled went in vain as Bokajan overcame Doyapur by 61 runs. Batting first, Bokajan set up a huge target of 165 runs for the loss of four wickets. Jenny Mech (34) was the highest scorer for Bokajan. In their run chase Doyapur were bowled out 61 runs short of the victory target in the allotted over for the loss of nine wickets. Tuesday’s matches First- Purana Bazaar A vs Purana Bazaar B Second- Dhansiripar Vs Kishiabill B CM’s Golf tournament in Manipur Dimapur, Mar 23: The first ever “Chief Minister Golf Cup Tournament” was held at Mantripukhri greens on March 22. The tournament was declared opened by Manipur chief minister, Okram Ibobi Singh as chief guest. A total of 32 players from Assam Rifles Golf Cup, Manipur Golf Club and 57 Mtn Div Golf Club participated in the championship. Minster for Tourism TN Haokip, who was also present, was honoured with the life time membership at Mantripukhri greens. In the tournament, best grass and overall championship was bagged by Rfn Parsuram of IGAR (South) and runner-up was claimed by Rachandra Singh. Indrajit Singh (Maximum Par), Lt Col SK Jha (Maximum brdie), Lt Col Rajendra Singh (Straight drive) won individual prizes in handicap 18 category. Col Rajeev Srivastava( Max Par) and Maj Gen AK Choudhary AVSM, SM, VSM, IGAR (South) (straight drive) in handicap 24 category while Birbal Singh and LK Singh were respectively declared the winner and runners-up for best net category. Meanwhile, Maj Gen AK Choudhary, AVSM, SM, VSM, IGAR (South) lauded the Okram Ibobi Singh for his kind support and assistance for the growth of Mantripukhri greens and his concern to the uplift sport in the state.
