Musical comedy play staged at ‘NE Spring Fest’

“I am only Human!” – A musical comedy in English marked the fifth day at the ongoing ‘North East Spring Festival ‘2009 held at NEZCC Complex on March 23. The play, an adaptation of “It runs in the Family” by Ray Cooney, revolves around Dr. David Mortimore, who is about to address a Neurologists’ convention that would probably earn him a knighthood. At the time of final touches to his speech discovers his liaison years ago with ‘Marian Brown’ resulted in a son, Leslie. The concept and direction of the play is by Rupa Hazarika Som. After splendid success in her theatre venture “Where is the Star?” in 2007, Rupa Hazarika Som proved her proficiency by following with another masterpiece “Double Trouble” in 2008, which brought ‘Stage Fusion’ to new heights. The wide recognition and rave reviews amongst the theatre lovers of Kolkata took her creative talents to the fore in the national mainstream. ‘Stage Fusion’ has ambitious plans to host the same play, which was for the first time presented in Nagaland, all over the country. Meanwhile, the fifth day of the ‘Spring Festival’ was allotted for a theatre act by the NEZCC with a view to promote more theatre activities in the region and cater to the demands of theatre lovers in the state.
