Founding member of the Nagaland GBs Association, T. L. Angami, had reportedly collected the nomination form from the office of the Returning Officer for the parliamentary election and Commissioner of Nagaland on Wednesday, thus projecting a possible third player in the Lok Sabha election after the NPF and Congress announced their candidates. When contacted, Angami confirmed that he had almost taken the final decision to contest as an Independent candidate and that he was planning to file nomination paper either on Saturday or Monday next. “I’ve sent my son to collect the nomination paper today”, Angami said during a telephonic conversation today afternoon. He claimed that he had been proposed to contest the parliamentary election by various sections of the people. T. L. Angami had unsuccessfully contested the state assembly election in 1987 under Northern Angami II A/C and also in 1998 under Dimapur III A/C, both as an Independent candidate.
