The directorate of marketing and inspection, ministry of agriculture, GOI in association with department of agriculture, Dimapur organized a one day training on Rural Godown Scheme (RGS) on March 23.
Altogether 40 entrepreneurs participated in the training. The training was chaired by district agriculture officer Dimapur N. Wetsah, and the key note addressed by marketing officer, Dimapur Kezhaleu.
The main topic of the training was presented by marketing officer, directorate of marketing & inspection (DMI), GOI, G. Chakraborty covering capital investment and subsidy scheme for construction, renovation and expansion of rural godown. He said RGS is captioned credit link subsidy scheme formulated by DMI – GOI in collaboration with NABARD.
The aims and objectives of the programme were to create scientific storage capacity in rural areas to meet the requirement of farmers for storing farm produce to prevent distress sale of produce immediately after harvest.
