Vicilu Venuh is Miss Vocal Flair

Sixteen year old Vicilu Venuh was on Saturday evening declared the winner of ‘Miss Vocal Flair’ after a day long celebration of International Women’s Day at Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima. A student of Patkai Christian College, Vicilu walked away with a cash prize of Rs.15,000 along with certificate of merit from the Department of Women Development. Twenty one year old Kekhriesenuo Rioh emerged in the second place and Alito Wotsa, 20, in the third place. They both walked away with merit certificates and cash prizes of Rs.10,000 and Rs.5,000 respectively. The other 18 finalists were awarded certificates from the Department of Women Development. The prizes were handed over by additional director, Women Development, Neilavoü Keditsu. The judges for the contest were Neibu Lhoungu and Azi Tetseo. The day long programme in commemoration of International Women’s Day organized by the Department of Women Development included flower show competition, songs presented by Naga Idol 2008 Toshinaro, Naga Idol finalists Kenei and Shenieta, the Pink Vivis Band. Fancy Dress and fashion show featured designs of local designers; while the Elements performed free-style dances. (Correspondent)
