Akuhaito EAC hq inaugurated
DIMAPUR: State minister for power and election, Doshihe Y. Sema February 27 inaugurated Akuhaito EAC headquarter in the presence of state additional commissioner, Zünheboto DC, various dignitaries and town citizens.
Speaking at the function, Doshihe said peace among different villages was essential for development, and urged them to maintain harmonious relationship. Others who spoke at the function included Zünheboto DC, additional commissioner, CEO, DMC, GBs of Coco area and GB Asukhuto town. Meanwhile, the GBs of Coco area has expressed gratitude to state chief minister Neiphiu Rio and NPF led DAN government for all round development.

WSBAK crusade held
DIMAPUR : Western Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kugkakulu held its revival crusade under the theme, “heal our land oh Lord” from February 20 to February 22. In a press release S.Vitoshe Swu, Executive Secretary while expressing gratitude to the speakers Rev. Barnabas C.S Moon, Director Withee Mission International, Rev. Shekiye Achumi, Director, United Revival Fellowship and all the well wishers who contributed for the success of the crusade. Delegates from 153 churches under WSBAK attended the crusade. DIMAPUR: Lotsu Village Students’ Union (LVSU) has made an appeal to various department offices and schools under its jurisdiction to be more responsible in their duties for the welfare of the villagers. The union also appreciated the tedious work put it by the responsible employees.
KSON office construction
DIMAPUR: Kuki Students’ Organisation Nagaland (KSON) has informed its members that the foundation work of the general headquarter office building of Kuki Students’ Organization, Nagaland have been started at its Headquarter Ahthibung Town. Organisation vice president, Heniminlal in a press note stated that the foundation work was made possible due to the contribution of MLA Tarie Zeliang, who donated Rs. 50,000 as first installment and BDO Jalukie who donated one unit of CIG sheets. Further, it expressed gratitude to MLA, BDO and well wishers for their contributions. Meanwhile, KSO has requested for financial and material assistance for completion of the office construction.
Trg on nutrient mngt, bio composting
DIMAPUR: Eleutheros Christian society, Action Aid Wing in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tuensang February 26 conducted training cum method demonstration on integrated nutrient management and bio composting under balance and integrated use of fertilizer for rural youth at Sangsangyu block. KVK Tuensang master trainer SMS (agronomy), Tokiho Achumi speaking at the training asserted that agricultural production system in Nagaland was rain fed and at subsistence level, a release issued by KVK Tuensang stated. He also stated that forest litters, weed bio mass and crop organic waste which were usually burned could provide inexhaustible source of organic waste for recycling so that nutrients locked in them gets release to replenish the soil and feed crops subsequently grown. Bio-compositing, a simple and economically viable method of converting organic waste into nutrient rich manure was demonstrated during the programme, the release stated. Altogether about 25 rural youth from Sangsangyu block participated in the programme.

KHE against illegal donation
DIMAPUR: Kyong Hungjantaren Ekhüng (KHE) has cautioned unauthorized persons against seeking or collecting donations by using the union’s name. KHE in a press release has stated that action would be initiated to those involved in such unlawful and illegal act. NSF tribunal meet on Mar 9
DIMAPUR: Tribunal of NSF has summoned extraordinary federal assembly at NSF office Kohima on March 9 at 11 a.m. According to former NSF president and tribunal general, Pushika Awomi the meeting has been called for to discuss matters pertaining to the present NSF imbroglio.
One injured in mishap
Dimapur: One person identified as V. Vitsu sustained serious injuries when his maruti car bearing (NL-07-2069) was hit by a truck (MN-04 A 2620) coming from opposite direction, near central jail junction 4th mile at around 7 pm, here, Sunday. Police said the truck was laden with timber and was heading towards Imphal. According to police, the victim has been admitted to Zion hospital with serious head injuries while the driver of the truck and his accomplice were arrested. The names of the driver and his accomplice was not available till the time of going to the press. (Staff Reporter)
Awareness camp on bird flu
DIMAPUR: A one-day ‘Community Awareness Camp on Bird Flu’, organized by department of veterinary and animal husbandry Mokokchung was conducted at Kubolong under Mokokchung District on February 28 with Dr. Sentirenla, VAS, QCP Tuli and Dr. Chubala Benard, VAS, Changtongya as the main resource speakers. At the camp the resource persons spoke on various subjects for the prevention of bird flu in the respective villages. They also asked the trainees to report immediately to district administration and the department if some domestic birds were found dead in their respective localities. Altogether 25 participants including Church members and village council members from neighbouring villages attended the camp.
