NSF executive council reinstated

The Naga Student’s Federation (NSF) Federal Assembly speaker Cusayi Lohe has revoked the suspension of the Executive Council vide, Order No. NSF/F-A- 01 2007-09, dated 3rd March 2009 and re-instated it on Monday. The federating units have also withdrawn the no-confidence motion moved against the speaker forthwith. A joint statement issued by NSF speaker Cusayi Lohe and deputy speaker Chumbemo T Ngullie said the sincere efforts through which the crisis could be straightened under the collective and able leadership of the tribunals and senior leaders of the NSF have beeb acknowledged. Cusayi said “while bestowing my unreserved confidence and trust in faithfully discharging the programmes and policies of the Federation by the Executive Council, I call upon the federating units, subordinate bodies, seniors and all right thinking citizens to extend fullest support to the Federation to accomplish the demand for fixing 33 years as the length of service.” He also extended his deepest appreciation and gratitude to all senior leaders and tribunals for their selfless services and sacrifices for the Federation. An extra ordinary Federal Assembly of the NSF was summoned by the Tribunals at the NSF Conference Hall on Monday to resolve the ongoing differences between the Federal Assembly Secretariat and the Executive Council. In a statement issued by V Phushika Awomi, Tribunal General, Achumbemo Kikon, sessional secretary, Theja Therieh, Tribunal member and G Vashum, Tribunal member, stated that the House after thorough deliberations adopted three resolutions endorsing the decision of the Presidential Council meeting dated March 8 to summon an extra-ordinary Federal Assembly to deliberate exclusively on the ongoing differences between the Federal Assembly Secretariat and the Executive Council. It also unanimously resolved to debar the incumbent officials from contesting for the three key posts (president, general secretary and speaker) for the tenure 2009-2011 and to re-instate the Executive Council on the conditions that the Executive Council activities will be confined only to conduct the 23rd General Conference of the Federation and that it will attend to the issues which require urgent attention of the Federation in consultation with the federation units. Monday acknowledging the apology tendered by the Executive Council for violating the constitution of the Federation.
