Tenyiphe-I celebrates foundation day

Tenyiphe-I village celebrated its 41st foundation day here at council hall, Tenyiphe-I with Chakhro Public Organization vice president Bituo Hama as chief guest. Foundation day of Tenyiphe-I village is celebrated on March 10 every 3 years. The village has more than 500 households, three khels, two private schools and one government school. According to the head GB, Tenyiphe-I Nolesa Zhotso, Tenyiphe-I village was created mainly for Tenyimi people for preservation of the culture of the Tenyimis. Chief Guest Bituo Hama speaking on the occasion advised the younger generation to take responsibilities wisely to uphold the customs and traditions of the forefathers. He also stressed on the importance of maintaining the originality of culture and keeping their traditions alive even in the future. The celebration was attended by elders of the village, GBs of all khels, village council chairman and members. Earlier the programme started with invocation by Tenyiphe-I Baptist church pastor Zasikholie, exhortation was delivered by GB’s of all khels, a brief history of the village was given by ex council chairman Rizeto Nagi and the benediction was pronounced by evangelist Neizelie. The highlight of the programme included the cultural songs presented by Westernmia Ü, Northernmia Ü and Sopfumia Ü.
