In response to the ‘Charter of demand’ as mentioned by the president of the Nagaland State JD (U) S. Lima Temjen in his paper presentation during the recent Naga Consultative meet held at Kohima, MIP/GPRN stated that the political meaning of ‘demand’ has its own implication in the context of Indo-Naga political negotiation and that the word ‘proposal’ have been consciously used thus placing ‘charter of proposals’ before the GoI to find the meeting point for negotiation. “We cannot undermine our position before the GoI by demanding anything from her, it said, adding “Ours is a legitimate issue and we are simply being opened minded for the sake of finding an honorable solution mutually acceptable to both”. It also said there should be no confusion of NSCN’s stand and the status it has been maintaining so far and the word ‘demand’ is misleading and politically incorrect in the context of the Nagas historical position.
