Agriculture department of Phek district organized four project level programmes for project committee members, SHG and farmers from March 3 to 6 in the four villages of Khuza, Chepoketa, Phek Basa and Lozaphuhu. According to an official bulletin, the district agriculture officer Phek and field staffs were the resource persons in the training. Great interest was shown during the deliberation by participants towards achieving the target of 50% interest in food product before the completion of ongoing NWDPRA project in Chepoketa village. According to the record available from the church, the annual food production was found insufficient in all the four villages. To feed the fast increasing population was a very serious concern that was felt amongst all participants. In order to meet these challenges the resource persons suggested some measures such as- crop rotation, double cropping etc wherever possible and use of quality seeds at right sowing time; village authorities to make resolutions in supporting and giving more opportunities in agriculture sectors to boost up production, etc. BCK hall (farmer meeting hall) constructed under NWDPRA (2007-12) in Phek Basa was also inaugurated by DAO Phek, Imtitemjen while dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Kuvengoyi local pastor. The function was conducted under the chairmanship of Project Committee Chairman, Thejaselie.
